Is Paintball Popular?

Yes, the popularity of paintball continues to explode year over year since it's inception in the early 1980's. In the US alone, millions now play annually. Paintball has become one of the most popular past times in America.... From teenagers to corporate execs and all walks of life, people simply enjoy the challenge and adrenaline rush of paintball.

Is Paintball Safe?

Yes, paintball is a very safe sport to play. Being a non-contact sport, it does not have anywhere near the injuries of other sports like football, soccer, and basketball. When playing under supervised conditions with the proper equipment, it is statistically safer than golf or bowling!

Does it hurt?

Getting hit with a paintball will sting for a second - about like getting snapped with a towel, or with a rubber band. But with the adrenaline, and excitement, you may not even feel the hit. Also proper protecive gear and clothing minimizes even this. Having said all that, if you consider yourself to be "ultra-sensitive" or "a whiner" this may not be for you.

What Should I wear?

Safety masks are required to be worn at all times while playing. Gloves and neck coverage (eg Bandana) is also adviseable. Additional protective gear like vest are available as well. As our facility is climate controlled, consider layering on a couple of thick sweat shirts. Men, don't be a hero, wear a cup. Also remember, SNEAKERS ONLY... ABSOLUTELY NO CLEATS or TURF SHOES. UrbanSplat has high impact, 1" thick cushioned flooring throughout the Battle Arenas for enhanced play and safety.

Is paintball teaching violence?

No, quite to the contrary. Paintball actually teaches great team skills like communication, trust, healthy competition and organization. It's why paintball outings are very popular with church groups, and as corporate team building outings. Paintballers are extremely respectful of one another. Everyone is there to have fun... In addition, our Refs control the games to ensure a fun safe environment for all. Aggressive or Abusive behavior is not tolerated at UrbanSplat.

What ages play?

Paintball is for all ages! You must be at least ten years old to play at UrbanSplat, but you will find pre-teen, teenagers, young adults, and men and women in their 40's, 50's and 60's on the field too.

What if I bring my child, but I don't want to play?

No problem at all. In fact we have built a parents lounge inside our facility. This room is for non-playing adults only. It is outfitted has comfortable chairs and couches, a big screen flat panel HD TV, WIFI internet access and a large window that looks over the playing field. Feel free to come on in, kick back, watch what ever game is on TV, or send some emails on your laptop over our T1 connection. Make yourself at home while your child plays.
